i've fallen in love with a jehovah's witness and i know she feels the same way about me but the problem is that im a methodist and cant find it in me to give up my faith and become a jehovah's witness as i would not expect her to give up her faith and it is driving us both crazy.

i've known this lovely lady for the past 8 years and have only now told her how i feel and every second im away from her im thinking of her wanting to be with her.

so im asking people who might know or be able to help

The Jehovah's witness religion is one of the few places / religions in the world where a window cleaner can have complete and utter control over something like 100+ people.

Is it any wonder that the uneducated class that we call the Elders are so easily corrupted by the power that we give them?

Jesus once said that the world would recognise his true followers by their fruits. Going on what you've seen do you think that JW's fit that role?

You've been given a small insights into our world, you've seen how nasty it can get, now go out there and spread the world. Take your girlfriend to, neither of you deserve this shit !

Should I sitll offer my JW clients a 50% discount

as a part time job on the side i have been doing income tax for many years.

i have around 100 clients and 50 of them are jws.

now that i am d/f i am not sure how many of the jws will continue to use my services.

Going off thread a bit this surprised me, I wouldn't have thought that co's or their wives would remember any of the small fry of the many congregations they go to unless you've done something to draw attention to yourself in their presence.

I always thought that the CO's just passed through and never paid anyone any attention unless they were Elders or supplying them with a meal.

ok so its a bit early in the year but hopefully this thread can be kept alive with nominations through the year.

1st nomination goes to the guy who videoed the elders at the door telling him that he had been disfellowshipped.

sticking a video camera in their faces and asking awkward questions took balls and he certainly made them look like idiots.

2nd Nomination goes to Richierich for liberating the Elders manual from the store room. Many of us will have seen this book before but this book had handwritten notes with detailed instructions on how Paedophiles should be treated within the congregation. Taking the book and uploading pages from that book to this site took balls

3rd Nomination goes to Sickoflies for his audio recording of his own judicial committee where in he was basically disfellowshipped for asking questions. Smuggling a recording device into the meeting, standing up to the elders and winning took balls.

Elders like the rest of us are suppose to lay down their lives to save a brother if needed yet they still treat their own like crap. You've caused one of their own to stray and to sin just by seeing you. There's no way they would treat you with anything but contempt.

I think its impossible to check everyone is there on the night, many dubs will be going off to other halls to be with parents anyway

Going to Memorial Service for the first time.....what should we expect?

we spent 6 months "studying" with a jw couple.

they claimed the wts had all the answers, but they actually couldn't answer any of our questions.

(we are devoted born-again bible-believing christians.).

You are just studies so no one will expect you to make to much of an effort or expect you to conform. However you will stick out like sore thumbs just based on how you dress. The men will be in suits and ties the women smartly dressed but not in trousers or anything to revealing or worldly
